Disintegration
I have spent a lot of money and bought all the best applications for my business needs. I have an erp system,
document management system, a crm system and a human resource program. However, these applications do not talk to
one another. I have to pay consultants to make them talk to one another. At the end of the day, we have to export
data from one application to another. In order to do that i have to hire consultants for integration between the
different systems. They all run on different platforms. If one application updates, i have to do integration
all over again. Even then, I still cannot have up to date reports. At best, i have to wait till the next day
because the integration is done by batch. I cannot access the information directly, because i have no time and do
not want to learn how to use all the different complicated applications. They were created by different companies
and run on different platforms and they all have different interfaces.

Our executive secretary keeps an address book for the CEO. OUr receptionist and telephone operator keeps an address
book for people working in the office. Our purchasing people keeps an address book of the suppliers. Our sales
people keep an address book of our customers. Our accounting department has an address book of the suppliers for
payments and customers for invoicing and collection. We do not have a centralized database of our business partners.
Many of theses contacts are the same, but not quite the same because they are maintained by different people on
different applications, excel,word, outlook. If a customer or a supplier moves, the sales people will update their
address book, but the accounting department are not aware and may send an invoice to the old address. The contacts
are not updated and cannot be synchronized. We still have some contacts with phones number on our erp system with
only 5 digits.

customer requirement, design solution, provide quotation, sourcing, purchasing, provide on site supervision, monitor
progress, deploy the right people at the right time for the right job, all the time trying to keep costs down and
